What are Porcelain Veneers?
Dental veneers are bonded to the front surface of an individual tooth. They are shell-like in appearance and made of ultra-thin high-quality ceramic that resembles a natural tooth. A veneer can protect the surface of the tooth while hiding imperfections, reshaping the tooth, and instantly whitening the tooth. They can be colored matched to blend in with your natural teeth. With proper care, they can last a long time.
Porcelain veneers are a permanent cosmetic dentistry restoration that can be used to correct a range of cosmetic concerns. The tooth is prepared by removing the enamel to make room for the veneer. Veneers can be used to treat a single tooth or many teeth. Dental veneers provide natural and comfortable results that can improve a patient’s quality of life and self-confidence.

Porcelain Veneers What to Expect
Dental veneers are custom-designed for each patient to improve the aesthetics of a smile. The shell fits precisely over the tooth to cover up imperfections, providing an instant smile makeover. They can also help prevent further damage to the tooth.
Veneers are constructed from an ultra-thin high-quality ceramic. This unique material reflects light as natural teeth do so that the veneer blends seamlessly with the natural smile. Ceramic veneers are highly durable as well as stain and decay resistant. With proper oral hygiene and regular dental care, dental veneers are designed to be a permanent dental restoration.
The first step in the dental veneer process is preparing the teeth that will be treated. Your Marr family dentist will begin by removing a thin layer of tooth enamel. Even though porcelain veneers are paper thin, this will to allow room for the veneer to be securely bonded into place and blend in naturally. Next, Dr. Marr will create molds of the teeth that will be sent to the dental lab for fabrication. Dr. Marr may fit you with a set of temporary veneers while your final restoration is being created.
Once fabricated, the permanent veneers are adhered to your teeth using a special bonding agent. We will check them for color, comfort, and fit. Your veneers will be immediately ready to use normally after they are bonded to your teeth. Patients enjoy a diet without restriction, and a beautiful, confident and natural smile.
