Dental BridgeAn Overview
A dental bridge is commonly used to replace multiple, consecutive missing teeth. Dental bridges can be fixed to adjacent teeth for support or secured to dental implants for a permanent dental restoration.
Dental bridges are made from porcelain that is fused to a metal bracket. The high-quality porcelain can be color matched and shaped to match surrounding teeth. Bridges are made to match your natural smile for a seamless and beautiful result.
Marr Family Dentistry in Greeley Co offers dental bridges for patients with missing teeth. Dr. Marr typically recommends choosing a fixed dental bridge for their long term oral health benefits, although traditional dental bridges can provide a more economical alternative.
Benefits of Fixed Dental Bridges
Replacing missing teeth is essential to support long-term oral health and prevent further damage to the gums, teeth, and jaw. Dental implants are the most natural and secure way to replace missing teeth. Implants act as a prosthetic root system, helping stabilize your bite and promote natural bone regeneration.
Fixed dental bridges offer many oral health benefits:
- Replace missing teeth
- Do not damage adjacent healthy teeth
- Stabilize tooth alignment
- Prevents bone recession
- Restore natural appearance and function of smile

Dental Bridge What to Expect
To determine which missing tooth replacement options are best suited to restore your smile, Dr. Marr will conduct a thorough oral health exam. Dr. Marr will analyze your current oral health, the number, size, and location of your missing teeth, as well as spend time with you to discuss your budget and goals.
A dental bridge restoration will require 2 or more visits to our Greeley, CO dentist office. Your anchor teeth will be prepared by removing a specific amount of tooth enamel to make room for the dental crown. Once the teeth are prepared a mold is taken of the space and will be used to create your custom fabricated dental restoration.
Dr. Marr works with a dental laboratory to create dental restorations that are highly durable, natural looking and long lasting. Once the restoration is fabricated, you will come back to the office so that it can be adjusted and fit to the anchor teeth.
If dental implants are required, an appointment will be scheduled for the implant surgery. Once healed, the permanent bridge will be fixed to the implants. Dr. Marr may provide a temporary crown while your implants heal.
